Walker Rock Garden

Tucked into a quiet neighborhood in West Seattle is a little post-WWII bungalow on a gently sloped lot, that features what has become a Mother’s Day tradition for many families in the area, a visit to the Walker Rock Garden.

Boeing mechanic Milton Walker (with the help and encouragement of his wife, Florence) spent 20 years transforming his yard into a whimsical and magical world of stone. Countless thousands of rocks (large and small) have been cut and fitted into colorful arches, a miniature mountain range and an 18-foot tower, among other things.
